Sorry I missed this one.

Alliant lists Reloder 16 as getting the highest velocities with 130-grain bullets in the .270 Winchester. The latest Speer manual shows 26 getting the highest velocity with 130s (3171 in a 24" barrel), but that's only by 5 fps over H1000. Both RL-23 gets 3113, and in my experience is more temperature resistant and than 26. I don't know why so handloaders assume 26 MUST produce more velocity with 130s than anything else, just because it does with 150s--especially since the case needs to be really full of 26 to get top velocity with 150s.
