I'd do it.
Often have said if we married younger and had more free money we would have
had another kid or so. Then adopted several that needed a home.
I know several doctors and business owners here who have done exactly that.
And not because of "look at me" but because it makes all kinds of sense.

my then 5 year old daughter was playing T ball with one of those doctors
last genetic kids. They had just adopted a Chinese baby (outsourced?

Em came over, looked at the baby and asked

Pretty cool people, they weren't at all offended, and I explained it to her.
