Why the hell would I care about a character made famous by Paul Newman in a movie based on a novella written by a man who posed the question “does America deserve to survive” If you’re unsure whether the greatest nation on earth “deserves” to survive, you should probably choke on a cock. As a side note, the question was posed, as Faulkner reflected on the death of Emmett Till. A 14yo black child who was murdered after whistling at a white Woman in 1955.
