Aren't some of the countries in Europe that did big lockdowns before having spikes now?
Yes. They were also hit harder economically than we were. The only way to have prevented loss of human life would have been to have done a total lockdown until a vaccine was developed. Then we wouldn't have had enough cases to have understood the virus well enough to have developed a vaccine. That's why the blowhards that criticize Trump don't offer up what they would have done.
