I injured my knee about 12 years ago, couldn't bend it for a couple weeks. It got better eventually and i figured it had healed up. Couple years back i swtiched jobs and suddenly that injury flared up bad. Had an MRI, miniscus had a tear but dic didn't want to do surgery, said an outside edge tear had a chance of healing. It wasn't getting better, could barely walk some days. Did a little research on my own, and started doing leg workouts every other day. Sounded like someone was walking on bubble wrap but i kept it up. Now, almost 2 years later, my knee never bothers me anymore and the popping and crackling is gone too. I was always going easy on it to prevent further injury, turns out that was the wrong technique. Strengthening the muscles around it was what it needed.
