S&W frames are forged. Ruger frames are cast. S&W's are stronger than you think.

Shoot a S&W next to a Ruger. If you like a good trigger and a delicate hammer fall, you will pick the S&W. But if you don't care about that, a GP100 4" is hard to beat.

A 586 or 686 has it all. The seven shots (686 plus) have the cylinder stop cuts between the cylinders. Stronger than the six shooters.
