Been shopping whole house generators on my phone most of the day.
Learning lots.
Check with the city people to make sure you can use it
before you start spending money. When we had an ice
storm a good while back, the line coming into the
house got yanked out, and I had to have a new lead in
and meter box put up. I wanted the electrician to
put up a generator connection and all the required
bypass stuff and the people he had to go through
to get the permits and inspections and sign off and
such wouldn't allow it. Said it was not in code or
some something like that. Without the city inspector
signing off and permits and such that means no
insurance and an excuse to deny any claims etc..
Big barrel they have you over, and it's full of poop
