I've yet to see a scope that won't track or repeat,"MAGICALLY" be good at zero retention either. Hint........(grin)
As to whether Athlon's mechanicals will prove up to the task over the long haul.....who knows? As you know, I'm not adverse to testing stuff and letting the results speak for themselves!
I learned long ago to never say never about gear, especially optics. The first time I looked at a NightForce, I couldn't imagine a scenario where I'd own one. I was happy to be proven wrong. The 12-42 BR scope was one of the best investments I ever made in my competitive shooting gear.
