I've had great luck on fur with 53 grain sierra matchkings at around 3750 out of a .220 swift, often you'll have to search for entry and exit holes and if they are more obvious they are rarely larger than a quarter. Of course if you hit spine or leg bone all bets are off. The 55 grain hornady works ok too, with most holes not larger than a silver dollar or so, but you will have the occasional mess.
