At the time I was a young man with a wife and baby on the way. I couldn’t really afford hunting and fishing equipment without severely cutting into the family budget so I took a second job nights and weekends at Sunset Sports in Salt Lake City.
They offered a generous employee discount and pretty much all of my earnings went to acquiring that rifle, a couple of 870 Wingmasters, a Ruger Single Six convertible, a 12 ga. Ponsness Warren press, and various other reloading and fishing related kit.
Still have all the guns and most of the rest. Those were the days.
