Yep first official big game rifle was/is a Remington 700 Classic in .270. I studied long and hard and would have bought a .280 if they had chambered it at that time as that was before the limited runs. I was all over the '06 cased cartridges at that point .25-06, .270, .280, and of course the parent. It shot well then and now and never regretted it. Even though it gets taken out less, I still have ultimate confidence when shooting it a game at any reasonable range.
