Still have my trusty Remington 700 BDL 30/06 I purchased in Aberdeen SD in March of 1980. Have shot many deer in SD, MT, and WI with it. However, over the years, particularly more recent years, I've accumulated more rifles in 30/06, 7x57, 32Spl and 35 Whelan. So I rotate through those, and that first 700 BDL doesn't get the love it used to. I will say, the last whitetail buck I shot was with that trusty rifle and a 150gr Speer Hot-Cor.
