I deer hunted with an EMT and he said that they give Narcan to the same people multiple times. The junkies get together and shoot up, but keep one person coherent enough to call 911 when people overdose.
There is actually a national hotline for users.
It's called Never Use Alone.
You call them up they say okay....you shoot and they wait on the line for a couple minutes to see if you OD'd.
If you can answer after a few minutes...you are probably going to be OK.
Kinda rubs me a little raw considering that if you are a first responder and have thoughts of suicide...you wait 6 months to get an appointment.
Oh well.
