When I lived in L.A., I had a very good friend, another writer, who had been a Navy SEAL, Vietnam service, who was virulently against all the illegal aliens pouring into our country. He made no secret of his opinions and posted them on the Internet. He received a death threat from some guy who said he was going to come to his house and "take him out." My friend said he posted back, "I'm not hard to find."
I asked my friend if he'd told the person who made the threat he was a former Navy SEAL? He said, "No, I didn't see any reason to give up any small advantage I might have."
I said, "I imagine you still remember a trick or two."
He kinda grinned and said, "A couple."
The guy never showed up.
