A neighbor recently saw a "350 lb" black bear just up the river from our place.
After reading this thread and realzing how dangerous it is out in the real world, I'm not leaving the house without
at least one 45-70 strapped to my hip.
On second thought, the bear might break into my house, I'd better sleep with one in each hand.
