I don't think that this is a wise idea. There is too much anonymity and opportunities to take advantage of your generous offer the way you are going about this.
I would sell your rifle and donate the money to a charity such as the Boy Scouts if I were you.
I disagree, we all need to have a little more faith in people and be a little less cynical. I still have my .270 Win waiting for a deserving home, the stockwork being done to it is still in progress that is why I haven't posted any new updates on it. However as soon as I get the stock married up to the barreled action again I'll be putting it up here for the next young man/lady to use, that is if the original recipient isn't still needing the rifle.
