It's called a fade where the throw is only catch-able by YOUR receiver.

They didn't have but a half minute. The Pats had the lead, why would they want to call time out?
The fade certainly could have been called, but it's a higher risk of incompletion than the inside slant off of a rub off play.


I am referring to the Seahawks not calling a time-out while apparently thinking the Patriots would a few plays before.

They played chicken with the clock, and the Patriots didn't blink. That game of chicken burned time. Time that ended up being needed more by the Seahawks than the Patriots.....
