So my questions are a little apart from usual discussions:

First: I'm concerned about carbon fouling, for example I do clean very quickly my Marlin M444 using IMR-4198 and CCI-200 but the work on the 30-06 is much much harder no matter the powder, also the cases appear to be very smoked inside. Some experienced handloader told me that the right combination of load/primer/barrel length should improve this situation. Someone else told me that Federal primers are usually much more clean than others.

Second: The velocities obtained in my old 22" barrel auto-loading BAR were usually 200 fps less than those claimed in most of manuals and I assumed that was due to the gas spill (the shorter barrel should have affected a little less than 200 fps over a 24"). In the Blaser is the same story...In other words it seems impossible to get close to 2700 fps with 180 grainers and 22" barrels. Any thought?
