Has anybody shot the 220 grain 30-06? I read a Hemingway story years ago about a guy named Francis McComber (I think) that was using that on Cape Buffalo. His first shot bounced off the horn boss and he never got a second shot off as he picked the wrong wife for sure!!
Anyway the 220 has stuck in my head for the last 40 years or so but I have never seen a box of them for sale. The idea of 220 grains at 2400 fps seems pretty good, it seems good enough to hunt anything dangerous, in fact, with that sectional density.
