4831 SC will give some strong velocities with heavier than 180 grain bullets...'max loads' listed by Hodgdon are really only in the 44 to 45,000 psi range...

there are some rewards to working up...

another sleeper powder with 150 grain loads and down is 3031..

I play with a lot of load development...

but then in the field... I sure have used a lot of IMR 4064, IMR 4895... with velocity in the 2400 to 2500 fps range...as where I hunt I seldom need max velocity out of a rifle... but it is a good thing to know where it is, in case you ever do need it...
