49 grainsIMR4064, 150 SST, CCI primer,RP cases, loaded to w/in .020 of the lands in a Mod. 700 w/ 25 inch Douglas barrel
Also 56 grains IMR 4350, 150 SST, Win LR primer, Lapua cases used in a Weatherby Vanguard II, also loaded almost into the lands. These loads are very accurate at a little under 2850 fps on 65-70 degree days. Some of the loads I see listed here would cause over pressure in my rifles, hence the wisdom of the work up. I shoot with a friend who uses a stock Mod. 700 of about 1995 vintage and my loads are low velocity in his rifle. His rifle has what I consider a too generous chamber and a long bullet jump to the lands. You would have too little bullet in the case to load near the lands. Seems common in Remingtons nowdays.
