I've had a Weaver Classic K4 in Grand Slam rings on a T09 base for quite a while now, great set up and reliable as a hammer. I might get flamed for this but...Buddy of mine put a clam pack Simmons 4x rimfire scope on his not too long ago and it certainly seems to get the job done, if it's a tight budget I can't say it would not work pretty well. Think it came with rings for under $50. Not as good as my Japanese Weaver, but a lot nicer than the old C4 on my other .22.
