Here is a tip for you in building a 9.3X62 on a GEW length Mauser.
Take the rear ferral and measure it. Take a piece if tubing with a 1/4" ID and cut it off square at .080" longer then the old one. That will be the new one you will use. Now make a ring of the same tubing .080" long to go around the front guard screw. This will cinch up between the screw boss and bottom metal. When you install these you will see the magazine box is now dropped .080" low.

NOW------ take brass or steel shims and solder them to the front and sides of the magazine edges so you fill the space and dress then off with a file inside and outside.
When it's done it will look like this.

Now when you make the stock you need to allow a bit of extra wood on the bottom, but when it's done you can't see any difference at all, but doing it this way allows you to load 5 rounds with ease.


So does widening the magazine at the front shoulder like it should be. This also promotes better feeding.
