I have hunted in RSA for several decades. I have never felt imminent threats. Last year, I did pass thru an area where there was rioting.

I am going this year and don’t have any major concerns. That said, I am vigilant, always. In country I prefer to fly from area to area.

Some 30 years ago old-timer told me that hunting in Africa could change quickly. He suggested that I go as much as possible. “There will always be sheep hunting in North America because the land is sparsely populated and because of the relatively stable governments.”

Headed to the Yukon in August.
