One you just flip the whole cage over and the door opens by gravity. Anothe couple of traps I have you sort of have to get your fingers close to the mechanism. Those are never fun.
Especially with an amped up sow coon.

Easier to just give them the Pol Pot treatment thru the wire before even touching the trap.


I use a Hav-A-Heart trap and a trash can full of water.

You'd be surprised how calm they are after a long swim.

This one tore a hole in the siding under my deck and took up residence in my crawl space.

I calmed him down with a 22 short before releasing.

Just me, but I dont want to drown anything, drowning seems like an awful way to go, even for a Coon. A .22 to the back of the head is humane. Unless I lived in an area where the discharge of a firearm is problematic I would rather spend the nickle for a .22 round and have it go fast.
