Filled my DMAP tag on Saturday about 9 AM. 8 or 9 came from across the railroad tracks and into the narrow strip of woods I was in. After I cleaned her, it was about a 25 yd drag to the edge of the farm field, then walk a couple hundred yards to the house and the truck. Drive back down to where she was, load her up and away we went.
I hunted all or part of 6 days this season. Some sitting, some pushes for my dad and a buddy. Got a buck on the opener and a doe on the closer. Only saw 20 or so deer all told but they're here somewhere. Deer trails in the woods look like cattle trails, buck rubs everywhere, deer poop everywhere.
I'll be out some during the flintlock season (2 doe tags yet) but probably mostly for fun and will be a fair weather hunter.
