As for the Saturday opener, deader'n hell where I hunt in 3A. Not many out, far fewer shots on an opening day around there, than I can recall in the past 30 years. Plenty of deer, but no one moving them. First season in years that I never saw one antlered buck in 14 days of hunting at camp. They're there, saw lots of nice ones through late summer and fall.
No complaints, would't miss it for anything. Nice to have snow early in the season this year, about 8" by Monday afternoon.
From what I've heard so far, some areas had a good turnout for Saturday, other areas, not so much.Time to get the flintlock ready for the day after Christmas.
