A friend of mine outside Fairbanks has killed all of her moose, caribou, and black bear over the last 25 years with a Winchester 94 in 30-30. It was the gun her dad handed her when she was 12 and she has never seen a good reason to change. Definitely not what most people would consider an ideal Alaska rifle but it gets the job done.
