I’ve heard this thrown back and forth a lot lately, the only Leupolds that have given me any grief are the newer ones.

The older M7 and M8 fixed and the Vari-X III scopes while maybe not as clear as the newest glass have always held zero and been tough as nails. I am not a turret jockey though, I prefer the boring duplex reticle and “set and forget” type of system.

The VX-2 and VX-3i have been the source of all my frustration.

Is there a vintage of Leupold that is considered legitimate or has this been a snowballing problem from way back?
