Problem is (as was pointed out to me by DeFlave) they need to know cause of death before they can call it murder. The guy was having a medical crisis when they got there. Also, we need to know the law of Minnesota on causation. Anyone?


After seeing that video there's plenty of probable cause to arrest and hold him for murder. They don't have to prove murder to arrest and hold someone, only have probable cause and there's that in spades. If it turns out his death was due to an ongoing medical crisis then they can turn the cop loose later.

Isn't that how it would work for any other citizen?
