While I tend to pack a Glock 9mm in 26 and 43 models (I learned my lesson during Dollar Bill Clinton's reign, I have plenty of ammo) I still use my trusted 686-3 snub.
The holster is a S&W suede lined thumb break I found at a mom&pop gun shop for $15. Fits it like a glove.
Stuffed it with Buffalo Bore 158gr SWCHP .38s. 1050 fps from that 2 1/2 barrel. Secret Service grips to!
