..................... The 308, 7mm-08, and 6.5 Creedmoor would be my top three.
Yeah. Anything from 6mm to .308 in a short action. Really hard to argue against the 6.5 diameter as being a good fit for deer.....hard argue against the case design and capacity of the CM for pushing it.
