Well, there's a difference between hunting rifle accuracy and target rifle accuracy. When I was an eagle-eyed 17-18 year old and I was qualifying under the NRA Marksmanship program, I routinely shot 1-hole, 5-shot groups with an old Remington 513-T and a peep sight. I did it several times with 10-shot groups as well, though not nearly as often. Shooting a 513-T target rifle at 50' is considerably different than achieving that same level of accuracy with a high-powered cartridge under hunting conditions. My preference for a hunting rifle is 1 MOA, though I know it's not necessary.
