Don’t know if it came up, but I have a long action 700 that had a lightweight fluted 7 Dakota barrel on it that had the same lightening cut on the action where it was turned smaller between the front and rear ring. If I remember correctly the receiver was engraved with Tooley Custom Rifles on the side of the action where the receiver was turned. It was a very light scratch engraving, but that’s the only one I had seen lightened that way. May give you some insight to where it came from.
