All this .358 talk has me wanting to dust off my M700 .35 Whelen and Savage 99 .358 Win! I put an old BDL stock on my 700 Classic to preserve the original stock that had a hard butt pad. Not concerned with lightening it up. It’s bedded and a real shooter although it never shot 200 gr Core Lokt factory loads worth a darn. Happy Trails

And you aren't missing out. That CL factory load was explosive for me on deer, even at their slower speeds.
