Won a sales contest and the company sent each of the top agents in their district to Italy for two weeks. We stayed at the Excelsior Hotel which was pretty plush but the highlight of the trip was meal at a mansion built on the grounds of one of Emperor Nero’s castles. I have no idea what the meal may have cost, but it was black tie and tails all the way. Each person was served by their own waiter or waitress, and you dare not set your fork down or the plate and silverware was whisked away and another dish replaced it. A different wine with each course and there were seven courses. The pastas all tasted like Chef-Boy-R-Dee. My mother wouldn’t have served the roasted veal main dish to the dogs. Had some good brandy and somebody gave me a Cuban cigar...which was good.

“My horn is full and my pouch is stocked with ball and patch. There is a new, sharp flint in my lock and my rifle and I are ready. It is sighted true and my eyes can still aim.”
