Ya know what?…both of the vortex’s I tried at the counter had tightened down ocular eyepieces as did the NIB Burris Sig HD I brought home all of which took quite the force to loosen from new…and then it spun like butter with what seemed a bit of excess lubrication…I think this is part of the final assy where they literally tighten the focus down hard to seal that lubricant for shipping purposes so the end user doesn’t open up a new scope where that extra lube leached out onto the lense?
