I love tinned seafood. I love dried seafood. As long as the quality is there, I'd happily survive on the stuff.

As another posted, many other nations from Asia to Europe and beyond have outstanding seafood tinned/other products. We keep a significant stash around always. Straight out of the can/bag, tossed on crackers, added to soups or ever better, served on rice or pasta and heated, whatever. I'll not be without a bunch in the house.

Mrs. KG has standing orders to bring back as much as she can carry from any place she travels to on business. Portugal and Spain have fantastic examples-- some seen below-- as do most any Euro nation. Excellent seafood products go far beyond sardines. Herring, tuna, salmon, crab, mackerel, anchovies, squid, oysters, clams, octopus and so much more. Packaged in oils, tomatoes, chili sauce, mustard, whatever. Food of the Gods.
