Anyone know when they stopped making the short mag.? My L&LR mag. does not have the 1908 patent but my S,L and LR mags do. Are there S,L & LR mags without the patent?

<br>The #57 catalog (1916) shows the 1903 with the 1914 style butt stock. I had not noticed and don't remember seeing one before. The more you look the more you find. The last 1903 I bought (91,xxx) has a thick hard rubber butt plate with the early Indian trade mark. Is the 1909 serialed in its own range or is it part of the 1903 serial?
