Jack, I have two 25's. I believe the were made between 1925 to 1929. In my opinion they are the poorest of all the Savage pumps. The extractor cuts on the barrel makes them weak (thin). I suggest that if you shoot them to only fire low velocity ammo. I sold one to a friend a few years ago and warned him numerous times about the ammo. He came back in a few weeks saying that it would not extract, then admitted to firing high velocity ammo. The chamber swelled. I have one that is marked Premier (wards) and the other is a Savage. I have seen them marked Ranger(sears), Tippens, and I believe Trailblazer(wards). The serial number on these house guns always have a suffix of L or K
