If Texas kept their own money in their own State I think that they would do just fine with out the Feds.

there would be some serious belt tightening. Texas is 3rd in fund received from the government behind California and New York


The question should not be
How much a State gets from the Federal Gooberment.
It should be
How much does that State give to the Federal Gooberment.

I do not live in Texas but their economy seems to be or was Booming.
The more the State makes the more the Feds take from that state.

I think Texas would hold up quite well if the kept their own money in their own State rather than give it to the Feds.

in 2016, 1/3 of Texas state revenue was federal funds.

there is no doubt they'd be ok, but it isn't going to be a windfall
