I tend to go along with Fred's assesment, I have at least one of each of the cals mentioned and several of some of them including 4 270's, a 6.5,243, 250S, 257Bob, 25=06, 222, 223, 22HP, 22=250, 7=08, 3ea 30-06, 300S, 300WM, 300WSM, 338, 358win, 44, 45, 357, 17HMR, 17HMII, 40, 375 H&H, etc. etc. If for some reason I had to sell all my guns but ONE I would keep the Model 54 270, not because it shoots better than everything or anything for that matter, it's because it was my Grandfather's gun, then my Dad's gun, then my gun, next will be my son's gun, and then my grandson's gun (he's 3) and hopefully keep staying in the family. I killed my first deer and my first elk with that old girl, both one shot kills with peep sights.
