The 338 is a fav of mine on the '06, but not truly needed for much game, but it hits hard whatever you hit w/it w/greater mass and frontal area no doubt.
For general duties, I just like lighter rounds myself for recoil, more shootable so I get more practice....and fun.
Everything Bart has WILL work, with shot placement, and w/appropriate bullets....some better than others, but most all do work, when the operator does.
Dogger, that 25-06 is a nice round in many aspects even if it is the odd Quarter bore
No need to spend a dollar to duplicate what you already own.....assuming your running similar bullet weights.
