Savage didn't start using LBC until 1949. Yes, it should be a 1-14" ROT. It's not weight but length of a bullet that determines the ROT needed to stabilize it. 87gr speer hot core is the go to bullet for the older 250-3000, but some have reported exceptable accuracy with shorter 100gr bullets (Nosler BT are long bullets).
