I had a Browning S/A years ago. Very well made, good looking, petite little thing. Too petite... I never shot it all that well. That's actually a complaint I have with the 10/22, I dislike the chubby midsection and whippy little barrel. I prefer a slim profile but just a bit of barrel weight out front. The old Marlin M60 with 22" barrel was really a good feeling rifle for me. The Model 60 Marlin is accurate and reliable but the trigger always sucked. The Remington 572 is pretty good, a little clunky compared to the M60 but feels like a rifle not a toy like the Browning. My favorite? A Ruger 10/22 with 20" .720" tapered and fluted mid weight barrel in a stock that's thinner through the forearm. With some trigger work... smile

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
