Can't argue a 30-06. And although they can be handy, would really want your only 06 to be housed in a handy rifle?
I don't have one, but have felt that no mater how many rifles I had, a controlled feed 06 should be the corner stone.
My bare bones list don't just consider caliber, it's also very strong on platform, which is probably more important than head stamp.
