I live in Michigan in the lower p (limited zone / slug zone) If you get a 44 mag carbine, I know a boat load of guys that shoot the Winchester White Box 240 grain sp, from Wlley world or wherever in the limited (slug zone) and it works like a champ. Ruger semi auto carbine, marlins, rossis, cva's, etc.
If you want to reach out and touch something, I have a TC Encore with a custom 460 S&W bbl on it with a fixed 6x scope on it. A true 300 yard rifle. I will sell it to you as I am getting out of the Lower P. deer game. A 300 grain bullet starting at 2200 really puts the stomp on those big bucks. The gun is set up for sitting (its heavy) so the recoil is not bad. If your interested PM me, we can talk prices, and/or you can meet me at my gun club and shoot it. I have never shot light bullets in it but am quite confidant you could get a 250 grainer to go 2500 fps or more. .
