I had a Ruger #1 Tropical in 405 Winchester topped with a Leupold VX-II 2-7X33. It was a real peach, and it shot three shot clusters at 100 yards with 300 grain Barnes TSX clocking 2450 fps. I think it weighed about 9 and a half pounds which helped with the recoil a bit.

I gave it to my son-in-law cause he really liked it. I like the #1 action.
