Yes we have more beds in use at the local hospitals. But a fair amount of that overall numbers is a result of a lot of procedures canceled and put off in March-August. That backlog has set the stage to make us more sensitive to the uptick in covid patients now.
A couple that are friends of ours are both physicians. Deal with this stuff daily. He caught the wu-flu and his wife told me she is torn about keeping her distance or just going and drinking out of his coffee cup to get it and get it over with.
What does that tell you about their level of concern for this virus? Not much concern at all.
