Jorge, I have found the 425 grain weight to be very versatile in the .45-70. You can get enough velocity to *somewhat* flatten the trajectory, and the ones I've used, made by CastPerformance and Beartooth Bullets, have excellent penetration. That weight is also very accurate in my rifle.
If I were limited to one weight in the .45-70, 425 grains would be it.
